Subject: Deplorable condition of a State Transport bus

Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to (would like to) draw the attention of the General Manager of the Maintenance Department of Haryana State Bus Transport Service towards the deplorable condition of a State Transport bus HR OB 4756.
On the seventeenth of May, I travelled from Gurugram to Delhi by Haryana State Transport bus. It was a very hot day. And it was shocking to find that the air conditioning in the bus not working properly. Its blowers were out of order. The atmosphere inside the coach was very suffocating. All the way, we had to spend time in the unbearable heat. The quality of the maintenance of the bus was also not good. The seats were torn at places. The curtains inside the bus were very dirty. And the floor of the bus was full of dust. It seemed as if it had not been cleaned since long. It was quiet disheartening to find the State Transport bus in such a deplorable condition.
It is the duty of the State Transport authorities to take care of the convenience of the passengers. The maintenance of the vehicles should be properly attended to. It is hoped that the concerned authorities would take some action immediately.

Yours truly

Subject: Problems faced by commuters during the peak hours of traffic

Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to highlight the problems faced by commuters during the peak hours of traffic - in the morning and again in the evening.
The commuters include office-goers, students and many others. The problems of students and office-goers become all the more worrying because they can't afford to be late every day. Due to heavy flow of traffic during the peak hours, there are frequent jams on almost every road. Everyone tries to get ahead of the other and there is a virtual chaos on all sides. The very few men of traffic police posted on the roads find themselves helpless to control the traffic. They can do nothing but blow their whistles.
It is suggested that more men should be put on traffic duty during the peak hours. Also no heavy vehicles should be allowed into the city during the hours. Part of the traffic should be diverted to some other routes that are not so busy
Yours truly
